The world of ‘Sempre’ is a place of limbo - a place between the mind and reality, the conscious and the subconscious. To some degree, a personal purgatory is the main turmoil navigated by the individual (Leonor) who is suffering through the loss. Her mind is infested with a physical manifestation of departing memories, presented before her as a projection of her lost lover (Sara). A vast white space surrounded by darkness, and an old beaten wooden chair, signifying the past, and the absence of what was once there.

SEMPRE was the beginning of Ken’s developing his practice ‘Synthesis’, and the first instalment of his personal project The Yugen Trilogy.
